Where does Trucks On Demand operate?

Trucks on Demand is currently operating in Tampa, Florida, but will be expanding to additional markets in the future.

How do I find the Trucks on Demand app?

You wield the power of TOD XL in the palm of your hand. Everything you need can be found on your Smartphone. Search for TOD XL in the iTunes App Store for Apple devices or the Google Play store for androids. Download the free app and follow the on-screen instructions to get started today.

How does the service work?

It’s simple! In the TOD XL app, choose a TOD truck request a pickup and the app will connect you with all available drivers within a 10-mile radius. The closest driver will come ready to deliver your purchases or haul your unwanted items. The app will provide you with an estimated arrival time of your driver, as well as their name and a photo of their truck. There’s nothing more to do except tell your friends and family about the great service you received from our TOD XL drivers.

Is it safe?

Trucks On Demand work hard to ensure that the drivers in our network are reputable, hard-working individuals. All drivers must pass an extensive background check and additional qualification screenings to become a Trucks On Demand driver.

Are there any restricted items that cannot be hauled or delivered by Trucks on Demand?

Due to local laws and security measures, our drivers are restricted from hauling/delivering the following items:

  • People or animals
  • Illegal items
  • Hazardous materials (including, but not limited to, explosives, gases, flammable liquids, flammable solids, poisonous or infectious substances, radioactive materials, and corrosives). For a full list of prohibited items, please see the FMCSA regulations.
  • Firearms, ammunition or other explosive materials
  • Articles of exceptional value (ie. antiques, fine art, jewels/jewelry, gold, or other precious metals. Items hauled/delivered by Trucks on Demand drivers are insured for a replacement value up to $20,000. Any value above this amount is considered to be an exceptional value.

Do I need to help the driver lift the item?

We supply one driver in one full-sized truck for each pickup. Our drivers will come prepared with a supply of moving blankets and safety constraints to prevent your items from moving around during the ride. Heavy and large items that cannot be handled by a single TOD XL agent will require your assistance at both pickup and drop-off. If you are unable to assist with heavy or large items, you will need to request a second driver in a second truck for your item(s). This can be done easily by contacting Trucks on Demand through the app or via the Contact Us page of our website.

Are my items insured?

Although our drivers are deliberately careful with the items that they haul/deliver, accidents can happen. Trucks On Demand maintains insurance up to $20,000 for any items our drivers haul/deliver in an effort to give you peace of mind. This means that your items are insured for up to $20,000 to cover repair or replacement costs of any items lost or damaged in transit.

How much does Trucks On Demand cost?

Our TOD XL truck rates are determined by the type of service that you choose. Payments are conveniently handled by entering your credit or debit card information in the TOD XL app. Billing begins when the driver arrives at the first pickup location and ends when all services are completed at the final drop-off location.

Am I expected to tip the driver?

We’ve handpicked our drivers to ensure that you receive friendly, helpful service every time you use TOD XL. If you are pleased with their service, you are welcome to show your appreciation via a tip. This can be done in the TOD XL app or may be provided directly to your driver as your drop-off is completed. One hundred percent of your tip is provided to the driver.

Where is my driver?

While using the Trucks On Demand app, you are able to view exactly where your driver is at via GPS tracking, providing you an accurate arrival time. Additionally, you have the ability to contact your driver within the app at any point during the drop-off/pickup service. If you are experiencing a delay in your pickup/drop-off time, please be aware that weather and traffic conditions may have occurred. Our driver should inform you if this is the case. To help expedite the pickup/drop-off process, please ensure that your items are packaged and staged – and that the parties at the pickup/drop-off locations are ready for our drivers – prior to requesting a driver.

Will the driver load/unload my item(s) from the truck?

Yes, depending on the service that you that you choose, drivers will load/unload the item(s) either to curbside or into a designated room.
